We're a family in Malmö who've become completely absorbed in tennis and just about everything related to this fantastic sport!
Our interest in tennis really took off in 2022 when our son picked up a tennis racket for the first time. Since then, tennis has taken up more and more of our time and attention—lots of practice and tournaments.
I (the dad in the family) started stringing rackets a couple of years ago, primarily to save money in the long run, but also because strings tend to break at the worst possible times (often on a Friday when there was a tournament coming up over the weekend). With our own stringing machine, we solved that problem! The ability to string rackets on short notice and at odd hours has slowly spread to a number of competitive players in our area. So, stringing rackets with your own strings—or with any of the strings we offer—is the first service we provide at Tennis is Our Passion.
What led me to decide to start Tennis is Our Passion?
My son has already switched cues a few times. Both because he’s growing and needs heavier cues, but also in his search for the cue that suits him best. Every time the topic of changing rackets has come up, there have always been two or three different rackets in the running, but which one fits best and which one does he like best? We haven’t found anyone who offers the option to borrow all the rackets you’re considering at the same time and for an extended period so you can compare them. If you borrow or rent a racket for a single occasion, it naturally comes with the specific string tension and pressure that the borrowed racket currently has—which is most likely far from the string tension and pressure you’re used to playing with. So the experience you get with a borrowed racket is most likely not comparable to how the racket would feel with your own strings and your own pressure.
So, in addition to being a “regular” online store, Tennis is Our Passion will offer you, the customer, the opportunity to try out the racquets you’re considering switching to, have them strung with your preferred string and tension, and then rent them for as long as you like so you can make a proper comparison. Once you’ve found your new racket, you can buy it from us and get a portion of the rental fee you’ve paid back as a discount on your purchase. You can simply return any rackets you don’t want.
We also have several other ideas in the works that we'll use to expand our operations once they're ready for launch.
